These summer shoes will certainly take your style game up a notch
This summer is all about pushing boundaries yet staying comfortable, and the right kind of shoes can make or break the deal. As much as we love a statement shoe, being able to walk around town with ease matters. Here are key shoe trends which are worth the effort, that caught our attention this season
Classic slip-on | They exude a sense of comfort and freedom like no other and were seen in plenty on international runways. Alexander Wang kept it pure at Balenciaga for SS 16; building his collection around lace and tulle, he showcased some charming slippers made of white lace. Gucci stayed loyal to its aesthetics, giving us slippers in striking graphic prints with a metallic lapel. Victoria Beckham inspired us to add character to our office look with white leather slippers – casual yet classy.
Statement heels | Shoes can transform an ensemble and heels even more so. Who better than Dolce Gabbana to take cues from? Their heels with tassels and mirror work conjured up a serious Bollywood vibe. Also, our guess is that Tory Burch took inspiration from Martin Margiela’s mirror heels of last season and showcased statement gold heels of her own.
Sassy Mules | This summer don’t be fooled by the basic structure of mules – they are all the rage. From Jenny Packham’s sleek and sexy black leather mules with the textured mules at Hugo Boss, they were everywhere. To add a pinch of fun, Dries Van Noten’s hot pink mules with an ankle strap can be a great addition to your wardrobe. Gucci’s mules with serpent detailing stood out in the collection.
‘IT’ shoe babouche | 2016 is the year of the babouche. They are sleek, smart and comfortable. If you are on the go 24X7 then these flats are meant for you. Acne showed them in black and white stripes. Though Celine’s collection had some stunning evening wear, the footwear was all about being casual and fuss-free. Pointed black babouches featured heavily, complementing the collection effortlessly.
With so many appealing footwear options this season, which one would you choose
