This season at the Lakme Fashion Week, along with the seasoned designers, there was a new wave of designers who presented fresh, unique collections. Redefining the rules, breaking stereotypes and infusing an element of novelty, these new labels and designers are risk takers with plenty of promise 

THE MERAKI PROJECT | The Meraki Project, founded by Sonali Pamnani, promotes the concept of Meraki – a Greek word which means the soul or essence of yourself that you put into your work. Using organic cotton, ikat textiles, linen and silks handwoven all over India, the label is focused on fuss-free, eclectic and fun clothing. The label excels in infusing fun, modern art motifs in their collections. If you are hunting for statement separates, make this your go-to label.

RARA AVIS | The principle of this brand is ‘Immortal Design’- emphasizing longevity in design. Innovation, detail and quality drive the brand’s philosophy. Launched by Sonal Verma, the brand works with leather and focuses on creating heirloom pieces. What makes the brand’s creations unique is the rendering of a variety of concepts in one outfit.

PELLA | Priyanka Ella Lorena Lama’s label, Pella, is a unique blend of simplicity and mystery. What makes this label one of a kind is that its concept yet thoroughly wearable.
