Kavita Bhartia’s collection is inspired from collection is inspired from timeless traditions and winsome architectural heritage

For her spring-summer 2016 showcase, designer Kavita Bhartia will be portraying subdued romanticism through her designs. The designer tells us, “The collection is inspired by timeless traditions and winsome architectural heritage wrapped up with romanticism.” She will be presenting floaty shapes with paneled skirts, voluminous circular skirts, pleated pants, and jackets this season. There is a move towards the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum; natural beige, tiffany blue, mint green and white highlighted with black (also a lot of sparkles) form the color palette.

An intense use of geometrics, architecture & paisley, a fresh take on Ikat, print lines with organza and textured drapes give the collection an elegant charm. Her innate passion for designing kept her motivated during the whole design process. As Kavita Bhartia explains, “During the whole process, from charting out a plan to making sketches to the final outfit, we constantly think of ways to improvise further.”

The designer is also targeting a younger audience, “Less is more, but what is minimalistic has to be done in a way that each outfit attracts the young generation. This time, the main focus was to clear the clutter on outfits and go on a subdued side. To achieve this, we have worked with different combinations and permutations for this collection,” she explains.
