Spring summer ’15 runways, from NYFW to PFW, were resplendent as the radiant sun. The colour yellow, in various hues and shades, dominates as the colour this season. From bright canary to mellow, marigold to ochre, custard to mustard; this warm and sunny colour has even hit high-street stores globally. This trend is versatile – it doesn’t stick to just one shade of yellow and can be worn according to your preference and hues of your skin tone.
A winning yellow-fellow was Michael Kors, with a collection that comprised bright shades, floral detailing and fabulous combinations. An absolute favorite is his yellow and navy combo.Olivier Rousting can do no wrong, with his fantastic creations, especially the structured black and yellow piece! It may be a little difficult to pull off this colour combination as you are in danger of resembling a New York taxi. But this Balmain look is, nonetheless, stunning!
Ralph Lauren hopped onto the bandwagon with beautiful yellow gowns and lady-like skirts. The olive shirt and yellow skirt combination is trendy and different. Not a colour you would have expected to pair with yellow otherwise.

Even our Indian designers are basking in the yellow sunshine. Atsu’s spring summer collection was drop dead gorgeous, especially their light custard yellow ensembles. Tarun Tahiliani had a bold, almost mustard-like yellow in his collection, and Sahil Kochhar used an attractive bright yellow.

Yellow goes really well with blue, but ensure you wear darker shades like a navy.
