Alexander Wang showcased woven fabric sandals in natural colours. The buckles were replaced with thick leather strings that tie around the ankle. His multi-coloured, open-toed ankle-high shoe sports a trendy new wedge heel. Sportmax followed the woven fabric trend in their wedge-heeled sandals in contrasting colours, a flawless match for sporty chic fashion. Michael Kors has ankle-wrap flat sandals perfectly suited for boho-styled clothes.

Lace-up sandals in flats, wedge heels or stilettos are a rage this season. Etro has sleek stilettos with embellished heels and long laces wrapped several times around the ankle. An eye-catching design from Erdem has knee-high strings criss-crossing each other with thick leather straps on the edges.

A Western influence is visible through spurs and the presence of tougher, metal hardware. The Marissa Webb clogs have metal studs, while Emilio Pucci suede boots come with metal embellishments.

The Spring/Summer ’15 flats are dressy, but practical. Feathered details are provided by Oscar de la Renta, while Dolce and Gabbana offer embellished ballerina shoes. Tibi’s flat sandal is heavily tasselled and Tracy Reese has a design which looks like bits of paper stuck together haphazardly around the toes.
