BEAUTY TREND ALERT | GLOSSY MAKE-UP

My Style

Dewy make-up is back | Are you ready to give it a try

Remember the days of lip gloss? Well, they are back and not just for the lips. Slick hair, glossy eyelids and dewy skin – lustrous make-up is updated and all the rage right now. Spring/Summer 2016 and Fall/Winter 2017 shows gave the look a big thumbs up, and here’s how you can get it.

Hair

Try the ultra-slick pulled back look like of Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 16/17 shows, where there’s a strong focus on the face. Complement with a dark lipstick for the day and smoky eyes for the night. You can even part your locks into two sections (as seen at Mary Katrantzou FW 16/17) for a sharper appearance.

Lips

Define your natural pout with a clear lip gloss seen at DSquared Spring Summer 2016. If you have full lips, this is all you will need as make-up. If instead your lips are thin, create an ombré effect with two lip shades to add depth to the pout. Complete the look with pulled back hair, nude eyes and lots of mascara.

Eyelids

Dab a little Vaseline on top of your eyelids to get the clear, dewy effect seen at Marchesa. Choose eyeshadow in a subtle, nude shade. This will draw attention to your eyebrows. Complement with bushy arch-shaped brows and lightly-tinted cheeks.

Face

Glossy skin or “gym skin” mimics the gleam of sweat in the best way. Keep skin make-up free, pat a little lip gloss under the eyes and define your cheekbones with some blush. Get inspired by the models at Marc Jacobs who wore a hint of blue eyeshadow and lots of mascara to go with this look.

Remember how resplendent Kareena Kapoor Khan looked when she recently walked the Lakme Fashion Week (Winter/Festive 2016) finale for Sabyasachi Mukherjee. We found this cool video from Lakme India on how to get her ‘Strobe and Shine’ look. So, when are you trying the all-glow make-up style?
