H&M’s tryst with sustainability goes back to the 90’s when organic clothing was an emerging trend. Now an active facilitator of ethical fashion, H&M has announced their latest collaboration with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Louvre, Paris, to celebrate the new H&M Conscious Exclusive collection. This is the brand’s fifth launch in the Conscious Exclusive series. Launched with a promise to “show that high-end fashion can be sustainable,” the collection draws heavy influences from the museum’s archives.
The collection that looks good and feels even more amazing consists of polished separates, statement dresses, wedding gowns and an assortment of accessories. Made using ethical practices, from materials such as natural cotton, recycled polyester, organic silk, recycled wool and hemp, this collection makes for a responsible sartorial choice. The elevated blouse | Statement sleeves are a major trend this summer. This round neck poplin blouse, made from organic cotton, features a placement print of marble and statues, and slit sleeves.
The new midi | A midi is a wardrobe classic that works well in all seasons. Add some metallic drama to your wardrobe with the high-waisted midi skirt made from recycled polyester. The Art Deco-inspired glass bead embroidery is done using recycled glass.
The slide sandals |The slip-on sandals are slowly becoming the utility essential of the season. Its laid-back appeal makes it the coveted footwear for summer. The slippers with a sculptural bow are made from Tencel and organic leather.
The classic kaftan | A long-sleeved kaftan is a staple in a cruise wardrobe. This effortless style will easily take you from day to night. Inspired by Gustave Moreau’s painting Jupiter and Semele, the kaftan is made from organic silk.
The statement earring | Art Deco-inspired clip earrings that are sure to grab attention are made from Denimite, a material made from recycled denim.
