Discover The Season’s Best At Mumbai’s Newest Boutique

Nestled in the old Art Deco quarter of Mumbai’s Colaba, Clove is a quaint retail destination. Imagined as a home, it offers owner Samyukta Nair's favourites across fashion, design and craft from India. Classic and eclectic, it appeals to a diverse set - the local, the gifter, the traveler and the collector. With summer at its peak, Samyukta let us in on what’s hot in store:

On approaching the season's trends...
Clove is welcoming the days getting longer, temperatures rising and plants blooming in time for summer with the sweetness of sorbet hues. With the onset of summer, we have put together an ode to the hues of gelato pastels. A bouquet of buttercup yellow, powder blue, soft pinks and sublime peaches to welcome sunny days that lie ahead. These soft shades pave the way for a harvest of subtle luxury with a dash of playfulness, lending itself perfectly to the essence of Clove.

Clove's most interesting, new pieces...
- The Plavaté’s Whispering Stripe Dress, which gives an illusion of being separates featuring a button down top and a skirt.
- Olivia Dar’s Orlando Beaded bird earrings.
- Dandelion’s Veere Di Wedding Collection Pajama Sets
- Suite No.8’s candy pop colored mugs, which come with a coaster that doubles as a lid to keep your beverage warm and protect your tabletop too. Their teapots also make for a compact set that includes a teapot, teacup and saucer.

New additions at Clove...
Our endeavor at Clove is to celebrate and showcase young and independent designers across India as an ode to everyday luxury. This summer, our edit sees the Clove closet house young labels such as The Plavaté, Iyla and THREE alongside known and loved ones such as The Olio Stories and PRAMA by Pratima Pandey. Complementing the above is footwear by Aprajita Toor, clutches and bags by Nomada and Brandless, along with jewelry by Ritika Sachdeva and MYO Designs.

On the home front, beautiful hand crafted bed and table linen by Safomasi perfectly accompanies The Wishing Chair’s watercolour painted plates, platters and bowls in hues of pinks and blues, adding to the whimsical and light hearted ethos of Clove.

Exciting events ahead...
At Clove, we constantly look at hosting interesting events or pop-ups as can be seen with our menswear pop-up with SHIFT and The Summer House hosted earlier this summer. Our first Masterclass with ELLE consisted of a perfume making workshop in association with The Perfume Library, and a second one following suite is a Masque Masterclass with PUREARTH planned for September. Additionally, we are very excited about the upcoming season and are looking at two drops, the first one being in August and the next in October. We are in the midst of planning events around them.

Samyukta’s summer favourites...
I am always most excited about getting away during the summer. When I am here, I find respite from the sun in cool cottons by ITR and IKAI, open toed sandals by Aprajita Toor and 11 Visconti, my new favourite scent for the summer by The Perfume Library.

Clove offers Samyukta Nair’s view on Indian design - one filled with pride for its talent, in a space to call home. It connects her upbringing in hospitality with her two loves: design and India. Based in Bombay and London, Nair is a dreamer and optimist working instinctually to create distinctive experiences, with entrepreneurial pursuits including restaurants, hotels and a playful sleepwear label.
