Here’s all you need to see from the Ball night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York
Met's 2019 theme is inspired by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay "Notes on 'Camp'”, the exhibition is featuring about 200 fashion pieces for both men and women expressing the elements of irony, humour, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration from the 17th century to the present; it’s open for visitors from 9th May to 8th September. However, coming to the most thrilling part, the grand-opening of the exhibition and the much-awaited event in the fashion world – the Met Ball – finally wrapped up and all the looks have been decoded, trends noted, and the couple looks benchmarked, after all the in-and-after parties.
This one-day avant-garde event has felt like travelling different centuries in different ages watching some tremendous looks (some rather bizarre!): Zandaya’s real fairy tale moment, Jared Leto's most-talked face accessory, Lady Gaga’s four-course dress and a lot of gladdening journey from Jenner-Kardashian sisters’ showgirl-esque outfits to Cardi B’s very-quintessential gigantic gown with about 30000 coque feathers (thanks to Cardi B we didn’t miss our Fenty Beauty queen.)
Having talked about our favourite best-dressed appearances from this exhilarating event, now is the time to shower some love for all the ladies and gentlemen who also came Anna approved wearing the amazingly-stellar camping looks, hence, when the buzz is settling down it is time to recall each one of them who rolled on Met Gala’s pink carpet and wooed us all.
Wear your sunglasses on, there’s going to be a lot of sparkle on the way!
