MAX MARA’S PRE-FALL COLLECTION 2019

Fashion

Exalted sophistication and ballet romance on the ramp

Max Mara recently had an absolute stunner of a pre-fall show inspired by the ballet star Rudolf Nureyev’s documentary. When the fashion house’s inherently elegant design sensibilities find a muse in ballet, ethereal femininity emerges. The pieces are as elegant as they are simple, as effortless as they are put together, and as head-turning as they are subtle. Let’s zoom into some defining looks of the collection.

Neutrals with pink undertones | Here comes the influence of ballet and leaves its delicious pink glow on neutrals. Those of us who have a love affair with both neutrals and pale pink can imagine the spectacle that creates even without looking at the pictures.

Wide-leg high-waist pants | Fluid trousers worn on the natural waistline create a very flattering and retroesque silhouette. It’s definitely a look to look forward to this year. Make the roomy pants even chicer by wearing them with a hat and coat like one of Max Mara’s models.

Belt bags | Belt bags continue to soar in popularity. Max Mara shows us how to make them a seamless part of an outfit creating the perfect mix of function and aesthetics.

Cinched waists | The collection is high on belts. Over a coat, on a maxi dress, on a blouse, on trousers and on a jumpsuit, they add a cool, androgynous element to the delicateness of the outfits. Neither too wide nor too narrow and in beautiful neutral hues, these belts are an ideal investor’s item.

Cashmere tees with fluid long skirts | A perfectly wearable and versatile ensemble – this one is as perfect for spring and autumn as it is for winter paired with an overcoat.

Ribbed leggings | Ribbed leggings offer the perfect balance to the voluminous pants, skirts and coats of the collection. In gorgeous neutral tones again, they are going to go magically well with several outfits – and we’re adding them to our preemptive shopping list.

Chiffon dresses | Chiffon and ethereal femininity are forever entwined. These dresses are all love – perfect for a romantic evening under the stars – or in a ballet theatre for that matter.

Ballerina shoes | These velvety shoes are all over the collection and all over our minds. We can’t wait to be in them – coupled with those cosy ribbed leggings of course.

All the outfits above are perfectly symbolic of the Max Mara woman who knows what she wants, is ultra-confident about her abilities, has a relaxed aura of femininity about her and is remembered by all for her personality. Are you a Max Mara woman?
