When you're on the hunt for a new mascara, just a quick trip through a drugstore aisle or department store can present a head-spinning flurry of choices: dense bristles, thin bristles, curvy brushes, straight brushes, volumizing formulas, lengthening formulas — the list goes on and on and on. Knowing where to begin with this ubiquitous beauty product isn't exactly easy.

And contrary to popular belief, not everyone wants big, fluttery lashes all the time (though we can't blame you if you do).
