DOES YOUR WARDROBE SPELL THE LAID-BACK LUXURY STYLE YET?

My Style

Six ways of wearing the laid-back luxury style

We’re almost done with summer, are mid-way monsoon, and soon approaching are the Fall vibes – It is that time of the year when laid-back dressing echoes in our ears as a patron and we can’t blame it for the dressing suits the current cosy mood. But this fall it’s not going be a typical cut-loose wardrobe, we are rather making it the ‘Laidback luxury’ style – because another best thing to happen after the laid-back luxurious vacation is the laid-back luxurious fashion. No oversized sweatshirts, no sloppy sweatpants, and definitely not about looking like a soccer mom chic, it’s rather the semi-sharp, distinctive silhouettes that spell effortless fashion, in the best possible mean.

For those of you who dwell on luxe pleasures from sleepwear to workwear, rejoice! We are elevating your downtime wardrobe with the coolest and luxurious ensembles – from effortlessly cool blazers to cut-loose trousers to the oversized menswear outerwear – here’s how you don the laidback luxury style the pro way.

Blazers and bralettes | When laid-back style marries romanticism, comes the blazer and bralette combination. Especially with the onset of the most confusing weather when season constantly switches between summer and fall, the combination of blazers and bralettes is the best replacement for all your dainty-romantic outfits. From lacy, sheer, and bright bralettes to the fitted, slouchy, and menswear blazers the grounds of experimentation are open on both the poles and interestingly, are very refreshing and unconventional.

Slouchy bottoms | If you haven’t tried wearing extra-slouchy bottoms then probably your definition of laid-back maybe just a little outmoded. Make it luxe by pairing it with sweatshirts, jerseys, and hoodies than the otherwise tank top and recreate your unique ‘laid-back luxury’ style. Having said that, let us give you caveat as well – relaxed and ugly fashion often shares a fine line difference so you’d have to be extra careful while choosing the slouchy bottoms for yourself.

Oversized outerwear teamed with sneakers | Whether you haul at the menswear section or you pull a size bigger than yours, nothing can spell ‘effortless’ more than the oversized clothing – this season take the concept a notch higher by layering fitted ensembles with oversized outerwear. Bring in the extra-large cape, short or long coat, and team it with your chunkiest (or chic) pair of sneaker to break the glass between laid-back and luxurious.

Blazer top | Pick the chicest blazer one size up, wrap it along with a belt, and look incredibly chic whilst still managing to be laid-back at your best. For an edgy vibe, go for blazer dress or you can even pair your blazers with flowing wide-leg trousers for a more workwear appropriate look. Do not forget to belt it up to make the fit more flattering and feminine.

Classic off-duty denim | A sleek and easy way for your capsule wardrobe for all the counterparts of casual and relaxed clothing is relaxed, off-duty denim. The way denim plays the staple role for all types of wardrobes – be it run-for-errands, corporate casual, or the on-the-go – likewise is soft-tailored basic denim for this style of dressing.

IFM Recommends: Boyfriend jeans by Agolde paired with a ribbed stretch-jersey tank top by Goldsign and croc-effect leather and PVC wedge sandals by Staud.

Formals and hats | This is how you take the laidback workwear style to street style, just by the simple addition of a hat. Invest in an exclusive piece of visor or basketball hat, pair it with your attire keeping the colour tones complementing and your statement look for the day is ready before you know it.

IFM Recommends: Double-breasted linen blazer by Michael Kors, pleated twill shorts by Tibi, tie-up leather sandals by Studio Amelia, and canvas visor by Burberry.

Screen your laid-back wardrobe and reincarnate its luxe look or add these pieces to your wardrobe to level-up the options. Tip: To keep it within the boundaries of laid-back luxury, style your outfits in a comfortable yet polished manner, balance the slouchy counterpart with a sharp silhouette, streamline the outfits by cinching your waist with a belt, and feel free to switch the sloppy bags with hardcover bags. And definitely no messy-hairdo!
