IF YOU ARE 5’2”, THIS IS HOW YOUR WARDROBE SHOULD LOOK LIKE

My Style

The just right picks for petite frames

“Though she be but little, she is fierce.” If this much-quoted line by Shakespeare sounds familiar then chances are that you stand proud at 5 foot something! Although we all have craved for some extra few inches at one point; there’s nothing that the right clothes and shoes can’t fix. Brace up, note it and shop it - we have rounded up four complete looks along with accessories to solve the ever-sigh wardrobe troubles for all the petite beauties out there!

Stripe on Stripe | The first one is a no-brainer, the stripe on stripe combination. But note that we are strictly talking about vertical stripes! And this high-slit kurta and bottom set from Nicobar seem to have met our desire for an ideal pair of vertical stripes which looks pretty smart and comfortable to be donned at your workplace too. Plus, monochrome is in trend! The blue is inspired by the hues of Jodhpur and hence it’s only fair that we pair it with a pop of colour. To balance the wide flair of the outfit, pair it with a chic pair of Camilla heels and seal the look with minimal pearl hoop earrings by Lune and to make it a little more serious, carry the look with a brocade clutch

Wrap It Up | Make wrap silhouettes with shorter, above-the-knee hemlines your go-to pick for easy dressing. We like this sustainable dress by Reformation called Lucky! For the choice of footwear, steer clear of mid-calf boots and opt for chic ankle boots instead because showing off some skin for creating distance between your dress and shoes is a clever way to trick the viewer’s eyes! And when we say chic, we are giving a cue about this white pair from Balenciaga. Complete the outfit with Cult Gaia earrings with pink asymmetrical stones. Apart from being noticeably unique and sublime, these long earrings will also elongate your face.

Proportion Play | We all know that high waist pants can make anyone look taller but pairing it with the right top makes the real difference. If you have a shorter frame then opt for crop tops instead of tunics. We recommend pairing this Prince of Wales checked tweed bootcut pants with a technical crop top from Versace. You know what? Don’t be afraid of wearing flats, you can make the best out of both worlds by staying comfortable in these ballet flats from Balenciaga and enjoy the lengthening effect of pointed-toe shoe cut. Top it off with a small leather bag from Chloe and add a dash of accessory with the gold vermeil bangle by Sophie Buhai, it will look great for workwear too.

Solid Colours | It’s so often that a small frame gets overwhelmed by layers of ruffles or too much print. But wearing jumpsuits is a great way to create a more flattering statement look, you can also make the look a notch higher by going for solid block-coloured ones. We love this Gucci jumpsuit in silk-blend - it will not only add to the smartness of the wearer but also create a convincing illusion of a few extra inches if paired with the right shoes. We recommend these metallic leather sandals (just right to jazz up an otherwise plain look!) and the Gucci Ophidia Bag.
