Believe us when we say this but New Zealand-born and London-based designer is having a serious moment in fashion right now. After winning over the Duchess of Cambridge with her classic designs, Wickstead is slowly becoming a Bollywood favourite too! Expect lots of midi length dresses and clean cuts. “Wickstead makes clothes for women who have tennis lessons on a Wednesday morning and poached salmon for lunch.” remarks the telegraph journalist Ellie Pithers who met her at her Cadogan Place atelier.
The young designer who studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College in London is known for her minimalistic designs and candy hues that make her a cut above the rest. No wonder, everyone from Bollywood’s Sonam Kapoor to Swiss socialite and fashion designer Sabine Getty has been crazy about her birch dress lately. And while we loved the way both wore it, a certain amount of healthy debate always is great as far as fashion is concerned! Here is how both the ladies wore the birch dress and totally rocked it.

Sonam has been a loyal fan of Emilia Wickstead … we mean, isn’t her many outfits proof? Whether it is her birthday or a relative’s garden wedding in London, Sonam has always lent a personal touch to all of Emilia’s outfits and this one was no different! The pretty actress recently uploaded a picture on Instagram where she looked nothing short of a princely royal in the bottle-green midi dress. With its risqué neckline and fitted bodice, the dress is such a great upgrade to the quintessential bodycon! Loved her messy bun, black flats and a sling clutch that completed this breath-taking look. Brownie points to the choker necklace that gives such an easy stance to the otherwise vintage-inspired avatar.
The swiss socialite and jewellery designer stunned gave the Emilia Wickstead birch dress with an added twist. She wore the green midi dress with a Swarovski crystal necklace and a pop of some delicious animal printed pumps. Don’t know about you, but we love the gentle touch of the leopard print pumps that breaks the monotony of all green. Cocktail parties or a formal soiree, this dress will definitely not disappoint.
