Rihanna’s Makeup-Free First Selfie of 2020 Is a Pimple-Positive Masterpiece

This may come as an enormous shock, but there are very few things I can say I have in common with Rihanna. People aren't begging me to come out with a new album, I don't have a hugely successful makeup brand, and I didn't have the self-restraint to wait nearly a week into the new year to take a selfie. But Rihanna's new makeup-free selfie revealed something we do have in common: She's got a zit near her jawline, just like me. And I'm trying to adopt her pimple-positive attitude.

Posting the photo to both Instagram and Twitter on Monday, Rihanna wrote, "First selfie of the year doe. #2020." In it, she's looking unsurprisingly adorable with braids wrapped up high on her head, a black hoodie, and the tiniest hint of lip gloss. Other than that, she seems to be wearing no makeup — not even Fenty Pro Filt'r Concealer, as evidenced by a reddish spot hanging out where her cheek meets her chin. And you know what? That zit is cute as hell.
