THE PERFECT DINING SETUP

My Home

Four gorgeous arrangements for your next big family dinner

Spending time with family is easiest and most pleasurable over meals. But instead of setting the dinner table as you do regularly, creating a special ambience to elevate the mood can be fun. These efforts can turn a simple dinner into a cherished memory. Here are a few dining set-ups to try |

Rustic

Amidst potted plants and shrubs, place fairy lights and lanterns to bring a countryside feel. Place a bunch of wildflowers and candles in the middle of the dining table. Wooden chairs would be ideal for this arrangement, decorated with warm toned ribbons and cream coloured lace hanging from the backrest. Use ceramic crockery with wooden bowls and ladles.

Vibrant

Another great idea would be to have a long table spread out in the open (in your garden or patio). Decorate the table with a gingham sheet, colourful coasters and placemats, and a bouquet of roses. Instead of chairs get two large, comfortable benches and align them alongside the table. This will add a casual vibe to the whole set-up. You can hang colourful paper lanterns for lighting.

Pristine

Spread ivory or cream-coloured dining sheets on the table and use glass and china crockery. You can decorate with white roses, carnations or lilies in soft colours. Keep the lighting dim, nothing too bright. Candles in similar colour palette as flowers is a good idea here.

Floral.

Spread a pastel coloured paisley print sheet on the table since everything else will be quite colourful in this setting. In the middle of a long table, place rows of colourful flowers in small jars for a vibrant touch. Dress chairs in bright, floral-print fabrics. Keep lighting bright to add to the cheerful ambience.

Happy dining!
