Loved for being all kinds of feminine, her eponymous label completes a decade

Saloni Lodha, born in Nashik, launched her label in Rajasthan 10 years ago. Today, the London based designer is known for ultra-feminine silhouettes, pastel shades and prints. Having built up a solid fan base, Saloni is now stocked worldwide, from Matchesfashion.com to Saks Fifth Avenue.

Known for marrying classic cuts with animal prints, or updating tired old florals with splashes of  bright colour, Saloni is a label for one with an eye for enduring fashion. From glamorous shimmery cocktail wear to wrap and slips dresses ideal for travel, the woman behind the brand clearly knows a thing or two about being one.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the designer jet setted back to her roots for a hashtag friendly soiree: Holi Saloni. Combining her childhood memories of the Holi festival, Lodha corralled the buyers, journalists, designers and friends who helped propel her business to success, for a three-day showcase of her anniversary collection.

Set in the imposing 18th century Devigarh Palace Fortress, atop a hill in the Aravalli, the party kicked off with plenty colour: the designer had the palace painted in an exuberant palette and draped it with neon lights and rainbow-hued ribbons.

Lodha pulled out all the stops, bringing in renowned London-based studio Mizzi to design the space. Their collaboration with local artisans led to mud-plastered and traditional huts with domed roofs dotting the stately landscape. The mirrored ceilings reflected the waning sunlight as the band set the mood for an evening of merriment under the stars.
