New Place Alert! Try Out Your Chopsticks At Happy Thai, Mumbai

Spaces

Nestled in the cosy corner of Atria Mall in Worli, Happy Thai has arrived to wake up your inner foodie.

Just like fashion, gastronomy too has its own trend to follow. The evolution of food tastes, presentation, preferences and availability of ingredients keep changing according to the demand. The popularity of Pan-Asian cuisine has taken a front seat and is becoming a favourite to the Indian palates. Gradually, Thai cuisine is more talked about and is here to stay. Mostly, Thai food in India is known only by a handful of colourful curries be it “red” or “green”.

But at Happy Thai, there are no "red" or "green" kinds. Instead, you will be served flavourful massaman curry or the hearty Japanese Ninja Katsu curry. The place brings together the entrepreneur duo Aditya Kilachand and Executive Chef James Biaka. The owners describe their product as a ‘fast-casual dining chain specializing in Thai and Japanese food’.

The Concept and Interiors
Being true to its name, Happy Thai located in Atria Mall in Worli, Mumbai, emanates a jovial vibe. This 85-seater dining space is kept minimal with white walls, floors and muted furniture. Faux foliage dangles from the ceiling and potted plants adorn the side walls. The team has integrated a lot of cane and wood in the space with a hint of gold accent. The welcoming ambience altogether pays homage to the royal roots of the elephant.

What Exactly to Binge on
You can expect fresh, punchy flavours from the menu helmed by Chef James Biaka, with Miso Marinated Black Cod, spicy rock shrimp, green papaya salad and more. The menu isn’t exhaustive but features lesser-known delicacies that he has mastered over the three decades of Japanese cooking. Though Thai cooking wasn’t exactly his domain, he trained himself at the famous Blue Elephant Cooking School in Bangkok exclusively for Happy Thai. The Baby Spinach Truffle Parmesan Salad can be a great pick for the vegetarians. To satiate your sweet tooth, don’t forget to try the New York cheesecake and the classic mango tart.

Whether be it your Monday blues, sparkling Friday night or a lazy Sunday, this cosy little place can lit up your day. Happy Thai is a happy place to be in where you can also deck up your Instagram feed with fancy snaps. Go and grab your chopsticks because the food in amalgamation with the character of the place shout out loud for attention and your love!
