One of the most prestigious fashion shows of the Indian Fashion Scene, the 20th Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 ended and it was nothing short of a spectacular event. With the best in class Indian designers showcasing some extraordinary innovative designs and numerous celebrities donned in glittering festive collections as showstoppers, the event was a huge success. While the show displayed some extravagant gowns, overtly winter outfits, and unique bridal collections, what took our heart was a stream of celebrities who were not just the bystanders but the partakers of making this fashion ritual even more glamorous.

To jog your memory we’ve got the most eye-catching showstoppers of the week.

Ananya Pandey for Arpita Mehta

A debutant at the Lakme Fashion Week, Ananya Pandey looked enchanting in an intricately embroidered pink lehenga and a matching blouse – all we could think of was a beach wedding! Adding to her beautiful ensemble was her illuminated rosy pink makeup with smoky eyes but what made her first runway walk so memorable was the lady’s untameable excitement that glittered the stage even better. Titled ‘Tren Tradition’, Mehta’s collection lived up to its name with light as air fabrics coupled with complex embroidery in shade of pinks and yellows (mostly, hues from a happy colour palette). It included lehengas, corset belts, Kurtis, and shararas which effortlessly take you from complementary functions to the big day celebrations. With bare necks and no jewellery except bangle-bracelets, the artwork of the designer stood out even more.

The collection takes inspiration from a blend of cultures and includes a genius selection of gowns, skirts, and blazers. With maroon red roses as the collection’s central theme, the show played in a beautiful tone of pink, maroon, and red with rose patterns all over the apparels.
