KYLIE OR RIHANNA: WHO’S YOUR MAKEUP MUSE?

Fashion

Celebrity and artist led makeup brands we love

Let’s face it: most products sell better when you can put a face to it (pun intended)!

A trend that is here to stay has influencers and celebrities introducing brands designed on their particular preferences and style. Beauty is on the bandwagon: Kim Kardashian started the trend way back, and her little sister, Kylie Jenner, is now leading the crop of celebrities and makeup artists who’ve built collections on notions of glamour, skincare and everything in between. We bring you our favourites:

Fenty
Chosen by Time Magazine as one of the Best Inventions of 2017, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty has certainly taken the world by storm with its all inclusive approach. Focusing on a range of skin tones that were hard to match by traditional brands, and creating formulas that work for all skin types, Fenty Beauty is here to stay with 1600 stores across 17 countries. With Sephora entering the Indian market, channelling RiRi is now infinitely easier.

Kylie Cosmetics
The controversy over her nomination as the world’s youngest self-made billionaire behind her, Kylie launched the 21 Collection for her birthday this August. With six new matte lipsticks in shades of pink and a massive eye shadow palette, the set is right on trend for this season’s makeup goals. The Collection comes with a lip kit and a set of liquid eye liners with a glittery palette, ideal for parties and dining out.

Pat Mcgrath
Pat McGrath, the legendary makeup artist’s namesake collection, is based on her belief that people should have a “fearless, daring attitude towards makeup”. The lady behind some of the most successful shows at Versace, Balenciaga, and Gucci, McGrath’s bespoke concoctions have become hugely popular, especially her ‘Fetish’ line of highlighters, eye make-up and lip balms.

Charlotte Tilbury
After 20+ years as a makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury knows what works. Having worked on the likes of Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford and Nicole Kidman, Tilbury knows the secret to a glamorous face. She channels her experience into products that can be used by amateurs and professionals alike. Case in point, her eyeliner crayons take 30 seconds to apply! New this year, the Flawless Filter has industry professionals recommending its qualities. It looks great on natural highlighting zones like the cheek or brow bones, but is also lightweight enough to be used anywhere.

Gucci Westman
Former artistic director of Lancome and Revlon, Gucci Westman’s signature look is the natural glow that has made Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson longtime devotees. She imbues her range of cosmetics with a passion for clean-living with products that are crafted consciously, being non-toxic and gentle on the skin. Marrying makeup and skincare, her range promises a coveted glow.
