WHEN MIXED METALS MEET MAXIMALISM

My Home

For a home that speaks unparalleled luxury

Been there and done that – the stark minimalist décor has long left our sight! If this pared-down décor seems plain and sterile to you too, you are in for a wonderful surprise. Right from our Instagram feed to the designer’s choice, everyone is talking lustrous metals and their mixed-maximalist designs, with so much on the reference we can safely say that you can marry your lovely silvers and nickels with rose gold and bronze and it will look as stylish and flattering. However, the idea of actually mixing metals and finishes with your existing décor may seem daunting, don’t worry, we’re here to simplify your task and help you design a home that’s eclectic yet sophisticated.

Living Room | The living room is indeed the prime focus of your home, it definitely needs to be opulent and full of character that compliments your buoyant personality. Without a guess, get your hands on the combination of warm and cool tones (dusted-copper and polished-silver do wonders together) to amp up your space. You could also rethink your alley and gallery to complement your living area while enhancing the overall ambience.

Bedroom | Your bedroom has your soul, embrace it with metallics to make it a cosy sanctuary!  You could choose to use gorgeous metallic wallpaper with mixed metal overlays on a pale silver base adding a dramatic but classic finish. Another way to mix metals without going overboard is through accents. Don’t forget to fix an ultra-lavish chandelier, right in the centre of your bedroom for that true-highness vibe!

Kitchen | For a place like kitchen where there’s a lot happening already, we suggest choosing one dominant metal with a contrasting metal in softer tone (soft gold palate for your fixtures and offset it with chrome). To hold the decor together, make sure the dominant one compliments the hue of your kitchen walls. If it’s a white canvas you’re free to choose anything that savours your fancy of metallics - brass, copper, rose-gold or go for all together.

Bathroom | Go with a tone that compliments the overall decor and play with metal’s texture for a more refined and urbane bathroom. Let’s say you like copper, wherein, you could mix brushed brass with polished brass in your fixtures and vanity accessories to bring out a beautiful visual diversity while there’s still room for elegance to breath.

Heaven forbid -  no risk of clashing metallics anymore! Ladies, your home awaits the majestic touch of this ‘it trend’. What are you waiting for?
