Fall runway makeup looks we’re dying to try

Female power was the true hero of runways across the globe in this era of #MeToo, channeled into silhouettes, patterns and colours. It’s no surprise then that the message of female strength came through in bold statement lips, hair with attitude, and eyes straight out of a punk album cover. We bring you some inspired looks to stay on trend:

Glitterbug
If you thought S/S 2018’s obsession with all things sparkly was in the past, think again. Glitter is back and how! Giambattista Valli’s runway was taken over by models in full face glitter, while Chanel took a subtler route with gold-smattered cheekbones. Thinking of trying the look at your next party? While Valli’s take might be difficult to pull off in our humid climate, perhaps glittery lips or eyeshadow will do? Kylie Kardashian’s latest beauty offering, the 21 Collection, offers an expansive palette of shimmering tones.

Punk & cat-eyes
The rebel spirit that permeated Dior’s F/W 2018 runways manifested in punk-inspired eye makeup, seeping through other shows as well with Miu Miu and Ashley Williams following suit. Maximalist styles were in vogue with cat-eyes being pushed to extremes at Saint Laurent and Tom Ford, and thick lashes of mascara for an ultra-feminine focus at Givenchy and Valentino. Whether you are using eyeliner or mascara, lay it on thick to sport these looks.

Minimalist looks
Maximalism out of your comfort zone? Lanvin, Christopher Kane and Michael Kors provide some relief at the other end of the spectrum with minimalist makeup. Get your glow on with our skincare tips and flaunt a natural sheen for this season. It's all about the prep for a healthy glow from within.

Statement lips
It’s time to bring out the classic red lip, signature for a Parisian evening of romance. Scarlet pouts made a proper statement at Rochas and Alexander McQueen. Crimson red, matte hues with impact, wine touched lips of maroon - don’t hesitate to go bright and beautiful!
